Hannu Lintu conducts in Baltimore, St Louis and Minnesota

Hannu Lintu begins three weeks in the United States, first conducting the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in three concerts on 30 and 31 October and 1 November. The programme features works by Beethoven and Brahms, plus Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No.1 with Conrad Tao.
On 7 and 8 October Lintu returns to the St. Louis Symphony, conducting music by Sibelius, Grieg, Schumann, and Liszt at Powell Hall. This trio of American engagements is then completed by Lintu’s debut with the Minnesota Orchestra on 13, 14 and 15 November when he conducts works by Olga Nazaykinskaya, Mozart and Prokofiev.
Lintu returns to the US later this season when he conducts the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in May 2015. These concerts at Detroit’s Orchestra Hall mark Lintu’s debut with the orchestra and will feature repertoire by Sibelius, Augusta Read Thomas, and Shostakovich.
