Anne Sofie von Otter brings a range of projects to European Festivals this summer. These include the acclaimed Theresienstadt project, which also features violinist Daniel Hope, pianist Bengt Forsberg and accordion player Bebe Risenfors. They present the programme in Munich on 28 July (where they are joined by baritone Christian Gerhaher), at the Edinburgh International Festival on 25 August and at the Augsburg Festival on 4 September. The Deutsche Grammophon DVD documentary on the project was awarded a Diapason d’Or and an ICMA Prize.
Von Otter appears at the Verbier Festival on 19 July with her Douce France programme, and on 20 July in a chamber concert performing Brahms and Marx with viola player Lawrence Power and pianist Simon Crawford-Phillips.
She opens her series of summer appearances on 30 June in recital with Bengt Forsberg at the Festival de Granada. Von Otter and Forsberg are then joined by cellist Steven Isserlis for trio recitals at the Festival d’Auvers sur Oise (2 July), London’s Wigmore Hall on 4 July and the Aldeburgh Proms on 14 August.
