David Zinman returns to the London Philharmonic Orchestra
16/4/2014
David Zinman returns to London for a concert with the London Philharmonic Orchestra on 19 March.
He conducts two works by Richard Strauss: Burlesque for piano and orchestra, featuring soloist Emanuel Ax, and Tod und Verklärung. Ax is also soloist in Bach’s Keyboard Concerto in D minor, BWV.1052. The programme opens with Mozart’s Symphony No.38 (Prague). During his time in London Zinman will also give a conducting masterclass at the Royal Academy of Music.
Later in the year Zinman takes his Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich to Asia for what will be his last major tour with the orchestra as their Music Director.
