Vladimir Ashkenazy returns to Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin
9/2/2014
Vladimir Ashkenazy continues his long-standing relationship with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin when he returns to the orchestra to conduct a programme of works by Elgar and Dvořák on 17 February.
The concert, at Berlin’s Philharmonie, features Dvořák’s Symphony No.8 and Elgar’s Violin Concerto, with soloist James Ehnes. The concert opens with Elgar’s Chanson du matin. Ehnes and Ashkenazy are also regular collaborators — most recently in performances of the Elgar concerto with the Philharmonia Orchestra last year.
