Nikolai Lugansky debuts with Boston Symphony and New York Philharmonic
Pianist Nikolai Lugansky makes his debuts with two of the great orchestras of the USA’s east coast in October, performing with the Boston Symphony Orchestra on 18, 19, 20 & 23 October and the New York Philharmonic on 31 October, 1, 2 & 3 November. Both engagements are conducted by Charles Dutoit, with Lugansky performing Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in Boston’s Symphony Hall and his Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini in New York’s Avery Fisher Hall.
Lugansky's CD of Rachmaninov's Piano Sonatas was recently released by Naïve/Ambrosie to critical acclaim. Later this season he goes on to perform with orchestras including Orchestre de Paris, Bamberger Symphoniker and the London Symphony and St Petersburg Philharmonic orchestras.
