14 August 2012
Charlotte Symphony Music Director Christopher Warren-Green has renewed his contract through to the 2015/16 season following the success of his first two years with the orchestra. During this time Warren-Green has overseen the extension of the orchestra's community and education projects, creating what the orchestra has described as “a new level of artistry and accessibility”.
Warren-Green has guest-conducted extensively in North America including concerts with the Philadelphia, Minnesota, Washington’s National Symphony, Houston Symphony and Seattle Symphony orchestras. He returns to the St Louis Symphony and Detroit Symphony in 2012/13.
Recent engagements in Europe have included Philharmonia Orchestra at the 2012 Three Choirs Festival, Sinfonia Varsovia with soloist Maria João Pires, and dates with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Orchestre National de Belgique. He continues as Music Director and Principal Conductor of the London Chamber Orchestra with whom he conducted last year’s marriage ceremony of HRH Prince William Duke of Cambridge and HRH Duchess of Cambridge, televised to an audience of millions worldwide.
