Aimard performs world premiere with BRSO

Pierre-Laurent Aimard gives the world premiere of the new concerto for Piano The Disenchantment of the World by Tristan Murail with Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks on 4 May as part of Festival Musica Viva in Munich.

George Benjamin conducts the orchestra in the new work, a joint commissioned from Musica Viva, the New York Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.

This premiere follows Aimard's critically acclaimed recitals at New York's Lincoln Center and a performance of Ligeti's Piano Concerto with the Royal Concertebouw Orchestra. Later in May, Aimard journeys to Berlin to perform Birtwistle's Antiphonies for Piano & Orchestra with the Staatskapelle Berlin and Andris Nelsons.
