John Adams receives honorary doctarate from Harvard University

John Adams has been awarded an honorary Doctorate of Music from Harvard University. One of the world's most prestigious educational institutions, Harvard praised Adams work in "redefining the contemporary musical landscape with his nuanced aesthetic, one rich with expressive forms, minimalist sensibilities, and profoundly humanist themes".

Adams has previously been awarded a Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Centennial Medal and the 2007 Arts Medal, as well as honorary degrees from the Juilliard School and Yale School of Music, Northwestern and Cambridge universities.
