Pekka Kuusisto steps in to perform Adès’ Violin Concerto with Chamber Orchestra of Europe

Pekka Kuusisto steps in at short notice to perform Thomas Adès’ Violin Concerto with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe (conducted by Adès) as part of the orchestra’s residency at the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon this month. The concert takes place on 19 January and features works by Berlioz and Sibelius alongside the Violin Concerto and Adès’s Couperin Studies. Kuusisto and Adès will collaborate again next month when on tour with the Britten Sinfonia, notably including performances of the Adès Concerto in New York’s Lincoln Center (22 February), London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall (27 February) and the National Concert Hall in Dublin (28 February), amongst others.
