Nikolai Lugansky signs with Naïve/Ambroisie
29 September 2011
Nikolai Lugansky has signed an exclusive recording contract with Naïve/Ambroisie.
The Moscow-born pianist launches his long-term relationship with the French label with an all-Liszt recital disc. Lugansky has frequently performed Liszt in concert but has not recorded his works for CD until now. The disc will be released in October/November 2011.
Commenting on the signing Patrick Zelnik, President and CEO of Naïve, said: “Lugansky is a wizard of the keyboard like the great Russian pianists who preceded him, and in particular Emil Gilels. I am deeply moved and honoured by the trust he shows in us in signing this recording contract”.
The new relationship begins an impressive season for Lugansky, which includes recitals at London’s Wigmore Hall, Vienna’s Konzerthaus and Paris’s Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. He will also perform concertos with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, and the Chicago Symphony, Philharmonia, Philadelphia, Russian National and NHK Symphony orchestras throughout the 2011/12 season.
