Krzysztof Urbański begins season as Music Director of Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra

Krzysztof Urbański takes up his position as Music Director of Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra this week after much anticipation. The opening concerts on 16 & 17 September see him conducting Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5 as well as accompanying Garrick Ohlsson (working together for the third time) in Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1. The following week features Urbański conducting Carmina Burana on 23 & 24 September, with other repertoire including Gorecki's Three Pieces in Old Style and Orawa a work by film-composer Wojciech Kilar which Urbanski has long championed.
