Martin Grubinger performs Orff, Stravinsky and Say at Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival

2 August 2011

Martin Grubinger and friends return to the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival to perform Carl Orff's Carmina Burana with the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival Choir, Ferhan & Ferzan Önder and singers Simona Šaturová, Benjamin Bruns and Dominik Köninger. The three concerts in Flensburg, Neumünster and Hanover (4-6 August) will be directed by Rolf Beck.

The programme also features Stravinsky's Rite of Spring in an arrangement for piano and percussion, as well as the world premiere of Fazil Say's new work Variations for Two Pianos and Percussion.

Later in the month Grubinger presents his extensive "Marathon" programme, featuring six percussion concertos, on 22 August in Lübeck, this time together with the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival Orchestra under the baton of John Axelrod.
