Lawrence Renes conducts Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra's season-opening concerts

Lawrence Renes returns to the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra to conduct the opening concerts of their 2011/12 season. He leads the orchestra in two performances of Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde and Mozart’s Symphony No. 41 on 2 & 3 September. Tenor Stuart Skelton and mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung feature as soloists for the Mahler work.

Renes also conducts the second week of their season, performing an all-Rachmaninov programme of the Third Piano Concerto (with soloist Simon Trpčeski) and the Second Symphony on 9 & 10 September.
