25 July 2011

Neeme Järvi has been awarded the International Record Prize "Toblacher Komponierhäuschen" in the New Productions category for his Chandos recording of Mahler's Symphony No. 7 with the Residentie Orkest. He has previously won this same award for his 1993 recording of Symphony No. 3 with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, also for Chandos.

The International Record Prizes, chosen by Gustav Mahler Music Week, have been given since 1991, and celebrate the best recordings of the works of Mahler. This year's jury consisted of Lothar Brandt, Rémy Franck, Dr. Günter Schnitzler, Thomas Schulz and Attila Csampai.
