Los Angeles Philharmonic appoints Santtu-Matias Rouvali a 2011/12 Dudamel Conducting Fellow

Santtu-Matias Rouvali has been announced by the Los Angeles Philharmonic as a Dudamel Conducting Fellow for the coming season.

The 25-year-old Finnish conductor will work alongside Gustavo Dudamel and musicians of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, as well as with students in key LA Phil education programs, over a five week period. This also coincides with the start of his Artist in Association post with the Tapiola Sinfonietta from the beginning of the 2011/12 season.

Forthcoming debuts for Santtu-Matias include concerts with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Grand Rapids Symphony, Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra and Frankfurt's hr-Sinfonieorchester. He will also continue his strong relationships with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Residentie Orkest.
