Paavo Järvi conducts his final concerts as Music Director of Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra

After a successful ten years as Music Director of Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Paavo Järvi conducts his final concerts with the orchestra on 13 & 15 May, in a programme of Mahler's Symphony No. 5 plus two works by his fellow Estonian Erkki Sven Tuur,  Fireflower - an anniversary fanfare composed especially for these concerts - and his Piano Concerto, which receives its US premiere.

Järvi's inaugural concert in September 2001 was broadcast nationally on PBS, and during his tenure, the orchestra has toured throughout America, Europe and Japan. Järvi concludes his highly successful tenure as the orchestra’s 12th Music Director leaving behind a legacy of extensive touring and a substantial discography on Telarc.
