Alison Balsom wins Female Artist of the Year at Classic BRIT Awards

Alison Balsom has been crowned Female Artist of the Year for the second time at the Classic BRITs for her latest recording, 'Italian Concertos'. Her biggest selling album to date, Balsom's international profile grew in December 2010 when she performed a work from the album on The Late Show with David Letterman after the host heard her on New York radio. Alison's determination and unwavering commitment to the instrument have seen her collect a host of fans, including Giorgio Armani who dressed Balsom for the Award Ceremony.

Balsom performed her own trumpet arrangement of Vivaldi's Violin Concerto in A minor at the ceremony, together with the London Chamber Orchestra conducted by Christopher Warren-Green.
