Susanna Mälkki conducts world premiere at La Scala

Susanna Mälkki is in Italy for the next two weeks to conduct the world premiere performances of Quartett by Luca Francesconi at Teatro alla Scala, Milan. Staged by Alex Ollé of La Fura dels Baus, performances of this production are scheduled for 26, 28, 30 April and 3, 5, 7 May. Mälkki becomes the first woman to conduct an opera at the famous house in its 232-year history.
