Andreas Scholl performs at Pope John Paul II beatification to 20,000 attendees

Andreas Scholl is the countertenor soloist in an open air concert to celebrate the beatification of Pope John Paul II at Czestochowa. Upwards of 20,000 attendees are expected at the event, held at the Jasna Gora Monastery in Czestochowa, Poland.

Scholl will sing Vivaldi’s Stabat Mater and Bach’s Cantata 170 (Vergnügte Ruh’) with the Morphing Chamber Orchestra of Vienna directed by Tomasz Wabnic.
