Sol Gabetta performs world premiere with Amsterdam Sinfonietta

Supported by the European Concert Hall Organisation, Sol Gabetta and the Amsterdam Sinfonietta perform a multimedia programme entitled ‘Liebestod’. Michel van der Aa's new work for solo cello, string orchestra and film projection, Up-Close, forms the centrepiece of the programme, played by Gabetta. Also featuring other works, including a performance between the six movements of Berg's Lyric Suite, with the Dutch actor Jeroen Willems playing short scenes, based on the love letters of the composer. Performances are on 11 March at Stockholm Konserthuset, 12 March at Luxembourg's Philharmonie, 14 March at Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, 16 March at Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, 18 March at London's Barbican Centre and 20 March at Hamburg's Laeiszhalle.
