Pianist Behzod Abduraimov signs exclusive contract with Decca Classics

HarrisonParrott is pleased to announce that Decca Classics have signed an exclusive recording contract with Behzod Abduraimov.

Commenting on the signing, Decca’s Managing Director Paul Moseley said: We are very pleased to welcome Behzod to our roster of artists, particularly so as he is the first young pianist we have signed in a very long time. I have seen his rare ability to electrify an audience while always remaining faithful to the intentions of the composer. We look forward to many exciting projects with this extraordinarily talented pianist.”

On signing the recording contract, Behzod Abduraimov remarked: “I am really honoured to be given this wonderful opportunity by Decca. It is like a dream for me to record for the same label as great musicians like Vladimir Ashkenazy. I am very excited now to share my thoughts and feelings about music with listeners all over the world.”

Behzod Abduraimov won the 2009 London International Piano Competition at the age of 18 with a performance of described by The Daily Telegraph as “the most enthralling roller-coaster ride of a Prokofiev Third Concerto imaginable.” Recent highlights include a performance with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and a recital at the Wigmore Hall. He will perform again with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra later this season and forthcoming debuts include a recital in Milan and at the International Piano Series.  

Behzod Abduraimov’s Decca debut album, to be recorded this summer for release in 2012, will include solo works by Liszt, Prokofiev and Saint-Saëns.
