Santtu-Matias Rouvali appointed Artist in Association of the Tapiola Sinfonietta

HarrisonParrott is delighted to announce that Santtu-Matias Rouvali has been appointed an Artist in Association of the Tapiola Sinfonietta following his debut with the orchestra earlier this month. His three year contract, which starts in September 2011, sees him join Stefan Asbury, Pekka Kuusisto and Mario Venzago as artists working intensively with the orchestra.

A graduate of the Sibelius Academy, Santtu-Matias’s recent and future guest engagements include performances with The Hague’s Residentie Orkest, Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra, Lahti Symphony Orchestra and the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra. He will continue to work closely with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra alongside his new commitments in Tapiola.

Regularly touring both in Finland and abroad, the Tapiola Sinfonietta records for the BIS and Ondine labels. Previous conductors who have held positions with the orchestra include Osmo Vänskä and Jean-Jacques Kantorow.
