18 October 2010
January 2011 sees Neeme Järvi take over from Marek Janowski as Artistic Director of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, with work already beginning on planning for the coming seasons. Although his Music Directorship tenure begins in September 2012, he will work closely with the orchestra in the meantime, whilst looking forward to an exciting opening season. Currently Chief Conductor of the Residentie Orkest, Järvi’s illustrious career has also seen him hold positions with the Göteborgs Symfoniker, New Jersey Symphony, Detroit Symphony and Royal Scottish National orchestras, with each of these he retains an honorary title. Guest conducting highlights of this season include appearances with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Wiener Symphoniker, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Luzerner Sinfonieorchester and the National Symphony Orchestra, Washington.
