Alison Balsom makes US television debut on the Late Show with David Letterman

Alison Balsom performed repertoire from her latest album, Italian Baroque Concertos, with members of the Orchestra of St Luke’s to an enthusiastic studio audience on The Late Show with David Letterman on 8 December.

The Italian Baroque Concertos album sees Alison further expand the repertoire for trumpet. The recording is made up of popular concertos originally composed for the violin or oboe by Vivaldi, Tartini, Marcello, Albinoni and Cimarosa, accompanied by the Scottish Ensemble. It follows Alison’s internationally celebrated recording of the Haydn and Hummel Trumpet Concertos in 2009 which won her Artist of the Year at the Classical BRITs and saw her perform live at the BBC Proms for an estimated audience of 200 million globally.
