Andreas Scholl, Paavo Järvi and Janine Jansen win Edison Awards

Andreas Scholl’s performance with the Vocal Consort Berlin and Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin received the award in the “Baroque” category, together with Hélène Guilmette and Andreas Wolf.

Janine Jansen and Paavo Järvi’s outstanding disc of Beethoven/Britten Violin Concertos Orchestra won in the “Concerts” category. The album has been widely admired by critics, with The Sunday Times describing Jansen’s playing as “sensationally good…she proves an intense, impassioned advocate for Britten’s still neglected work.”
