An outstanding graduate of the prestigious Accademia della Scala, South-Korean bass Simon Lim made his La Scala debut in 2007/08 season in the title role in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro under the baton of Giovanni Antonini. Subsequently at La Scala he has performed as Flemish Deputy in Don Carlo under Daniele Gatti (2008/09 season) and, more recently, the role of Cesare Salzaparigli in Donizetti’s Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali under Marco Guidarini. Born in 1982, after graduating from the Yeungnam University (Korea) he moved to Italy to perfect his singing studies. In the last two years he has won Italian Singing competitions held in Mantova, Bologna, La Spezia, Voghera and Grondona.
