Peter Oundjian is renowned for his innovative programming and he always explores the breadth and depth of orchestral repertoire. At Toronto he helps to create compelling seasons that also feature world-renowned soloists and guest conductors. At the beginning of his tenure in Toronto, Peter Oundjian created the now-annual and hugely successful Mozart Festival, and the New Creations Festival. He was also at the centre of a documentary with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra entitled Five Days in September: The Rebirth of An Orchestra, which has won numerous awards at international film festivals and has been released on DVD. Through his position in Detroit he helped to create and launch a successful and imaginative multi-disciplinary festival in June 2007.
Peter Oudjian’s 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons feature return visits to many of the orchestras with which he has built ongoing relationships including the Philadelphia Orchestra, San Francisco, Boston, Dallas, St. Louis, and Houston Symphonies, and the Aspen Festival. European engagements include the Zurich Tonhalle, and L'Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.
