One of the most dynamic and exciting quartets currently performing, the Jerusalem Quartet continues to be in great demand all over the world. The highlight of 2006 was undoubtedly their incredibly successful Shostakovich cycles which they performed throughout Europe and in Canada. Summer 2007 saw their debuts at the Verbier and Valloires Festivals, plus a three-concert Brahms project in the Robeco Summer Concert Series in Amsterdam.
The Quartet continue to be regular visitors to most European cities including London (Wigmore Hall ), Cologne, Hamburg, Brussels, Paris, Munich, Luxembourg, Zurich, Bordeaux and Geneva. With a growing reputation in North America they will make appearances in Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Cleveland and Washington. This season they will make their debuts in the new auditorium in Valladolid; and their Bath International Mozart Festival debut will take place in 2008. The Jerusalem Quartet continue as Musica Viva’s Quartet-in-Residence until 2009.
As exclusive artists of Harmonia Mundi the quartet’s last CD was their Dvorak recording with pianist Stefan Vladar released in May 2006; and their next release will be an all Schubert CD in spring 2008. In November 2007 we were delighted to announce that the quartet had received first prize in the chamber music section of the Vereniging van Schouwburgen en Concertgebouwdirecties Dutch Music Prize, 2007.
