Argentinean pianist Ingrid Fliter, the 2006 Gilmore Artist, has been noted for her uncanny musicality, natural sensitivity and elegance in performances throughout the world since her career was launched at the age of 16 at the Teatro Colón in her native Buenos Aires. Only the fifth pianist to have been so honoured, the Gilmore Artist Award is made to an exceptional pianist who, regardless of age or nationality, possesses broad and profound musicianship and charisma and who desires and can sustain a career as a major international concert artist.
During the 2006/07 season, Ms Fliter makes her debuts at the Hollywood Bowl (with the Los Angeles Philharmonic), with the Detroit and National Arts Centre Orchestra (Ottawa), and performs recitals in San Francisco, Chicago, New York at Carnegie Hall and London at Wigmore Hall. The following season see her orchestral debuts with Cincinnati, Washington National, St Louis, Dallas and Toronto, a Japanese tour, and a tour of Spain with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra. She will perform recitals in Vancouver, London (Wigmore Hall), Barcelona and Lisbon.
