Finnish conductor Eva Ollikainen has already worked with orchestras including Finnish Radio, Iceland Symphony, New Japan Philharmonic and Royal Stockholm Philharmonic.
Born in 1982, Eva studied at the Sibelius Academy with Jorma Panula, Atso Almila and Leif Segerstam and, in November 2003, won First Prize in the 2nd International Jorma Panula Competition. As a result, she has been chosen for the International Conductors Academy of the Allianz Cultural Foundation in London, where she has worked with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Kurt Masur, and the Philharmonia Orchestra and Christoph von Dohnányi. James Levine has invited her to participate in 2006 Tanglewood Music Academy this summer. Her forthcoming engagements include reinvitations from Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Iceland Symphony and appearances with the Malmö and Trondheim Symphonies as well as the Nordic Chamber Orchestra.
