Eliana Pretorian’s outstanding early potential was recognised by the Royal College of Music where she was awarded a full scholarship in 2001. She was quickly spotted by Glyndebourne Festival Opera with whom she made her debut last season as Giannetta (L’elisir d’amore) conducted by Maurizio Benini. This followed appearances with Glyndebourne on Tour as the Dew Fairy (Hänsel und Gretel) and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte).
She has also made recent role debuts as Naiad (Ariadne auf Naxos) and Clorinda (La Cenerentola) both for Garsington Opera; Despina (Così fan tutte) with Longborough Festival Opera; and in concert as Dircé (Médée) with the Gulbenkian Orchestra under Lawrence Foster. She made her US debut in performances of Messiah with The Philadelphia Orchestra under Christopher Warren-Green.
