Now in his fifth season as Chief Conductor and Artistic Leader of the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Eivind Aadland has maintained a regular relationship with many Scandinavian orchestras, including the Oslo and Bergen Philharmonics.
Highlights of recent seasons have included performances with the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse and Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège, the Swedish Radio and West Australian Symphony Orchestras, the English and Lausanne Chamber Orchestras and the Symphony Orchestras of Gothenburg, the Finnish Radio, SWR Stuttgart and WDR Cologne.
The 2007/08 season and beyond features return engagements with the Oslo Philharmonic (including a tour of Sweden), Den Norske Opera (Die Fledermaus), the Iceland Symphony, Musikkollegium Winterthur, Melbourne Symphony, Royal Flemish Philharmonic and the Orchestre National de Belgique.
Mr Aadland has recorded for Hyperion, ASV, IMP Classics, Koch, Simax and BIS records, championing Norwegian and Swedish composers. As a violinist he studied with Yehudi Menuhin, and was concertmaster of the Bergen Philharmonic and Music Director of the European Union Chamber Orchestra.
