In addition to his present positions, the eminent conductor Edo de Waart he has held posts with the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest Holland, the Sydney Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Minnesota and Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestras.
He has a large and varied operatic repertoire, having conducted in many of the great houses of the world, including Bayreuth and Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera New York and the Salzburg Festival.
Recent and future guest conducting highlights include performances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra, Washington in the US; as well as the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest Holland, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and Het Residentie Orkest in Europe. In April 2009 he spent three very successful weeks in Japan with the NHK Symphony Orchestra.
