During his current tenure as the Music Director of the Rochester Philharmonic, Christopher Seaman has attracted much attention for raising the artistic level of the orchestra and broadening the audience base. Elsewhere in North America he has enjoyed recent engagements with the Pittsburgh, Houston and San Francisco Symphonies, as well as the Aspen Music Festival.
Mr Seaman has appeared regularly in Europe with such orchestras as the Rotterdam Philharmonic, Netherlands Radio Philharmonic, Czech and Brno Philharmonics, Aalborg Symphony, Orquestra Nacional do Porto and the Bergen Philharmonic. He regularly conducts in Australia, including the Sydney and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras and has conducted the Hong Kong Philharmonic and Singapore Symphony on a number of occasions. Future engagements include the Seattle Symphony, Warsaw Philharmonic, Prague Radio Symphony, Gulbenkian, Het Barbants Orkest and Trondheim Symphony Orchestras.
Mr Seaman makes a point of encouraging young talent and as a result of the success of his recent masterclasses with Symphony Australia, he now holds the post of Course Director, Symphony Australia Conductor Development program which was previously held by Jorma Panula.
