Christian Tetzlaff

Equally at home in repertoire from Bach to the Romantics, and renowned for his interpretations of new music, Christian Tetzlaff has been aptly described as "brilliant and inquisitive" by The New York Times.

Engaged by many of the world's leading orchestras, Christian Tetzlaff is also a regular guest with the major international festivals - including “artiste etoile” at the 2005 Lucerne Festival. On stage and in the studio he enjoys partnerships with the most distinguished conductors and chamber music colleagues.

Christian Tetzlaff has made a number of recordings for Virgin Classics and EMI, including the complete Bach solo sonatas and partitas, which was praised as 'an altogether breathtaking release' and honoured with the Diapason D'Or - as was his recording of Sibelius's complete works for violin and orchestra. His CD of Bartok sonatas with Leif Ove Andsnes was a 2004 Grammy Nominee, and his Brahms Violin Sonatas with Lars Vogt received an ECHO Klassik prize. He was named Instrumentalist of the Year 2005 by Musical America.
