The Russian conductor Andrey Boreyko is one of the most exciting and dynamic conductors to emerge from Eastern Europe in recent years. Currently Chief Conductor of Bern Symphony Orchestra as well as Principal Guest Conductor of the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra (SWR), he will also become General Music Director of the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker from 2009/10.

Andrey Boreyko has appeared as guest conductor with such orchestras as the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Berlin Philharmonic, Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin, Leipzig Gewandhausorchester, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Tonhalle Orchester-Zürich, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI Turin, Oslo Philharmonic, the Danish National Orchestra and Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France among others. He also made a very successful debut with the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden in April 2008. He is fast gaining a prestigious reputation in the United States having conducted the orchestras of Chicago, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Dallas, Los Angeles and Philadelphia. Future highlights include return visits to the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and Toronto Symphony, and appearances with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Wiener Symphoniker and Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala di Milano.
