The Russian conductor Andrey Boreyko is one of the most exciting and dynamic conductors to emerge from Eastern Europe in recent years. He is currently Chief Conductor of the Berner Symphonie-Orchester, as well as Principal Guest Conductor of the Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart (SWR) and of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Euskadi. From the start of this season he will also become General Music Director of the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker.
As a guest conductor Andrey Boreyko has worked with many of the world’s most renowned orchestras. In Germany and Austria he has conducted the Berliner Philharmoniker, Münchner Philharmoniker, Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and Wiener Symphoniker. Elsewhere in Europe he has appeared with the Royal Concertgebouw, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI, Filharmonica della Scala, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra and Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. He is fast gaining a prestigious reputation in the United States and Canada having conducted the orchestras of Boston, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Dallas and Toronto. Highlights of this season include return visits to the Los Angeles and New York Philharmonic Orchestras, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Detroit and Winnipeg Symphony Orchestras.
