Biography

Bo Kristian Jensen was the winner of the 2005 Aarhus Summer Opera Young Singer's competition. He finalised his vocal studies with Professor Kirsten Buhl Møller at the Copenhagen Opera Academy and made his opera début as Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia at Det Kongelige Theater, Copenhagen in 2005/06 season where, as a member of the ensemble, he has sung his first Tamino in Die Zauberflöte and Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor. Outside Denmark he made his French debut at the 2010 Festival d’Aix-en-Provence as Evandre in Christoph Loy’s new production of Gluck’s Alceste conducted by Ivor Bolton, his house debut at Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Lucio Silla and at the BBC Proms as Emilio in a concert performance of Handel’s Partenope with Concerto Copenhagen under Lars Ulrik Mortensen.
