Simon Lim

Young South-Korean bass Simon Lim is quickly establishing himself internationally in the Rossini and Bel canto repertoire as well as lyric bass roles. This season he will make two significant role debuts in the Palau de les Arts in Valencia as Alidoro (La Cenerentola) and Masetto (Don Giovanni) under the baton of Zubin Mehta.

He also returns to Teatro alla Scala, appearing in the title role of Don Pasquale for the first time. Further debuts are scheduled with Arena di Verona as the Mandarin (Turandot) and as Don Fernando (Fidelio) with the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra. Looking further ahead, he will perform the role of Tom (Un ballo in maschera) at the Teatro alla Scala in 2012/13.
