Biography

Baritone Adrian Timpau was a member of Opernhaus Zürich’s Opernstudio where he sang roles such as Dancaïro (Carmen) and Schaunard (La bohème). Born in Moldova, Timpau made his professional debut at the country’s National Opera as Robert in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta and went on to build his repertoire there with such roles as Eugene Onegin, Escamillo (Carmen), and Yeletsky (Pique Dame). 

In the current season Timpau returns as a guest to Opernhaus Zurich to reprise his Schaunard, joins both the Queensland Symphony Orchestra under Alondra de la Parra and Szczecin’s Opera Na Zamky as Escamillo, and sings Eustachio in Donizetti’s L’assedio di Calais as a member of Glimmerglass Opera’s Young Artist Program.

Timpau has been successful in a number of international singing competitions over the last years, and was invited by Edith Wiens to participate in the 2016 Internationale Meistersinger Akademie in Neumarkt.
