Biography
After a brilliant early career and an impressive catalogue of award winning recordings, Hüseyin Sermet has burst back on the international scene with important and successful concerts in France, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Japan and China. Recent highlights have included concertos such as Ravel Concerto in G, Bartok No. 3, Beethoven No. 4 and Tchaikovsky No. 1 with RAI Turin, Bamberger Symphoniker and Luzerner Sinfonieorchester to name a few. This season NHK TV in Japan broadcast a 15 series programme of master classes and performance filmed in Istanbul; he has given recitals in Paris and London and a chamber music concert with the Capuçon brothers in Lyon. As composer (he studied with Messiaen and Boulanger) he recently completely a new and substantial work Az kaldı bayram ola for two pianos, percussion and selected instruments.
