Reviews
“She makes a big, vivid sound; has fine control of Beethoven’s spectacular virtuoso effects; and is good at patiently building climaxes over long stretches of phrase.” (The New York Times)
“…her gravity, finesse and dreaming touch supplied its own refreshment.” (The Times)
“This is one of the most intriguing yet bewildering recitals I have encountered in a long time. At her fines Hélène Grimaud is a truly remarkable artist capable of transcending the piano's essentially percussive nature to create magical worlds of tonal half-lights and ecstatic vocal metaphors.” (International Record Review)
“… The Rachmaninov was a sumptuous, moody affair, launched with unnerving heft by Grimaud, whose playing was typically ruminative and visionary… Displays of lofty high Romanticism, symphonic in their magnitude.” (The Guardian)
“Grimaud lucio una limpia tecnica y bello sonido y en el adagio sostenuto paso con serenidad de un nombre ascendente en la interpretacion, todoterreno, aunque le gusta dar sus propias transcripciones de Bach, lo cual no puede ser un detalle irrelevante.” (Diario de Navarra)
