In addition to his present positions, the eminent conductor Edo de Waart he has held posts with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Sydney Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Minnesota and Rotterdam Philharmonic orchestras and he continues to return to each orchestra regularly. His recent and future guest conducting highlights include performances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. The next few seasons see him continue his relationships with the Sydney Symphony and the Melbourne and NHK symphony orchestras.
He has a large and varied operatic repertoire, having conducted in many of the great houses of the world, including Boris Godunov for Geneva Opera, Der Rosenkavalier for Opera de Bastille, and Die Zauberflöte and Le nozze di Figaro for the Metropolitan Opera, New York. He was also the Chief Conductor of De Nederlandse Opera from 1999 – 2004. His most recent return to the Metropolitan Opera, New York for performances of Der Rosenkavalier received excellent reviews, and he looks forward to future returns.
